I’ve been a fan of Gourmet Brownie since I first discovered Kirstyn and Andrew’s delicious brownies several years ago at one of my local markets. I’ve been hooked on their chocolaty goodness, crisp crust and rich centre ever since. I can honestly say that some of the best brownies come from their kitchen in Ely, Cambridgeshire. They’re all hand-baked in small batches with no artificial flavourings, preservatives or colourings – just fresh, quality ingredients.
I’m pleased that their signature all-butter brownies are being stocked in an increasing number of establishments and can also be ordered online (keep reading to find out how to get 15% off all Gourmet Brownie orders for Valentine’s Day). It takes an incredible amount of hard work, business savvy and creativity to take a business from strength to strength – and this is precisely what Kirstyn and Andrew are doing, with the help of a small team. So I was elated to receive an invitation to Gourmet Brownie’s launch of their 2019 Valentine’s range. It was held at the fabulous Poets House in Ely, where a group of bloggers gathered at the bar for cocktails and mocktails before proceeding to a private function room.

I don’t think any of us expected to feast our eyes on such a stunning tablescape. We were all impressed by the grazing table of brownies, beautifully laid out on carved wooden boards. The glass vases with gorgeous flower arrangements by Farm Flowers, tall candle holders, crisp white napkins, vintage style cutlery and dyed linen ribbons added to the sumptuous ambience.
We each had our own blank canvas – an individual board of brownies that we could decorate as we wished, using flower petals, edible glitter, fruit shards, meringues, fresh raspberries, hearts and buttercream (for piping). Check out Paulo’s piping skills!
The Ely Gin Company also had a Raspberry bottle on hand and offered G&Ts made with their juniper and raspberry flavoured spirit drink. It’s used in the Raspberry Gin Extreme brownie – possibly my favourite in the range.
Other exclusive Valentine’s flavours include: Raspberry & Rose, Raspberry Delight, Raspberry & Pistachio and Vegan Coconut & Raspberry. Instead of clichéd red or pink hearts for Valentine treats, Gourmet Brownie chose one of their key ingredients – raspberries – to celebrate the colours of Valentine’s Day.
There is also Gourmet Brownie’s own style Snickers bar (Nuts About You) with its thick toffee and peanut layer. This indulgent, decadent delight makes the perfect Valentine’s gift – and its message couldn’t be clearer!
If you’re not already convinced that brownies are the perfect way to spread a little love, Gourmet Brownie are sweetening their offer with a 15% discount on all orders between 25 January and 11 February, 2019 – just use the code VAL19. This includes their classic collection of signature flavours and their exciting range of extreme brownies.
Their lovely brownie gift boxes are delivered straight to the door of your loved one. You can even add a personalised message. But hey, why not treat yourself? They’re too yummy to resist. Feel-good chocolate brownies for everyone!
It also feels good to support local businesses. Gourmet Brownie is a Cambridgeshire company and Kirstyn and Andrew like to collaborate with other local companies. The Ely Gin Company is a great flavour fit for their raspberry brownies but it was lovely to be introduced to others, such as Farm Flowers from Longstanton and Cambridge-based AV Typography (who designed the launch’s invitation and the label on the goody bags).
The fabulous goody bags were filled with brownies, a small bottle of Ely Gin Raspberry, a birthday card designed by Amy of AV Typography, a little bouquet by Lizzy of Farm Flowers and a jar of Joe & Seph’s salted caramel sauce, which is baked into the top of the caramel brownies.
It was great to be a part of this exciting launch and listen to Kirstyn and Andrew speak so passionately about their business and their latest Valentine’s range – the perfect occasion to showcase the Gourmet Brownie love.
Gourmet Brownie invited me to attend the launch. Although the brownies and drinks were complimentary, all views are my own. I did not receive compensation for my blog post. The discount code is not affiliate.
